It was a traditional church ceremony in the quaintest Birr chapel that started the celebrations for Amy & Rory. While an outdoor secular ceremony is, undoubtedly, all the rage, I must say, I also love to see couples embracing their familial faith. It’s a beautiful honouring of those who married before them and a grounding in their cultural heritage. Following the heartfelt ceremony, complete with bagpipe sendoff, we bussed their almost two hundred guests to the ever stately Gloster House for cocktails and canapes - which was somewhat migratory, thanks to waves of summer rain that stopped as soon as they started… and vice versa. Gloster House is perfectly laid out for this sort of Irish weather shenanigan, given that its formal rooms lead directly onto the glorious sun terrace.

An afternoon of craic and lively entertainment flowed into an evening of the same, with the addition of an excellent spread thrown in for good measure. With a focus on hospitality and soaking up everything Gloster House had to offer, styling was restrained - just our favourite classic bistro chairs, lots of glistening candlelight in our signature glass candlesticks, an abundance of florals and super bespoke stationery, was enough to add a fresh stamp to this delightful dining space.

“On the day, Kate and Eve were absolute stars. Kate made a couple of last-minute suggestions on the day that made everything run so much more smoothly. The whole day flowed perfectly, and we didn’t have to think about a single thing because they had it all under control. Both Kate and Eve were such calm, lovely presences to have around which was exactly what we needed. They even helped us organise and style everything for Day 2 which was a massive help.”
