SARAH & SEAN

The place looked absolutely beautiful and we had such a good day. We really appreciate all the effort Love & Gatherings went to”

A Dublin City Micro Wedding

Sarah & Sean’s day was a love letter to their city – a Dublin celebration that looked and felt like the place they call home. Rather than escaping to the countryside, they leaned into the energy of the city centre, threading their day through some of Dublin’s most characterful spots and keeping everything focused on what mattered most to them: love, good vibes and really great food.

The celebrations started high above the quays, on the roof terrace at The Yarn at The Woollen Mills, with the Ha’penny Bridge and the Liffey as their backdrop. Sarah arrived with her dad to Mary Black’s version of She Moved Through the Fair, and the whole ceremony felt deeply personal – a close friend singing, Sean’s uncle leading the ceremony and inviting everyone into a shared reading so that the room quite literally came together around them

  • From the beginning, Sarah was clear that she didn’t want to follow tradition for tradition’s sake. Instead, she built a day that felt modern, unfussy and true to their lives in the city – no extras they didn’t care about, and a strong focus on the pieces they did. That mindset ran through every decision, from skipping wedding cars and a formal cake, to investing in a photographer whose work they loved and a dinner that would genuinely wow their guests.

Her own look set the tone: a contemporary, bespoke mini dress and custom veil created with the team at Covet, finished with a statement bow and block heels made for city streets rather than manicured lawns. Sean wore a relaxed neutral suit that sat perfectly against the urban backdrop, and the bridal party arrived as a riot of chic colour – burnt orange, burgundy and blush – echoing the warmth and ease of the whole day.

After their rooftop “I do”, Sarah & Sean led their 38 guests through town to The Palace Bar on Fleet Street for pints and toasties – the most perfectly Dublin sort of drinks reception. Later, everyone gathered upstairs at The Winding Stair, where the atmosphere shifted into an intimate, candlelit dinner, speeches weaving in between courses as the city moved on outside the windows.

In keeping with their thoughtful, unfussy approach, even the smallest details had meaning. One of our favourite touches was the confetti: dried petals from roses in Sarah’s late grandmother’s garden, scattered in the middle of the city and quietly tying generations together. It’s that balance – city lights and family stories, modern silhouettes and deeply personal rituals – that made their day feel so distinctly them.
