ANNIE & MICHAEL

We appreciate all that you over the course of the year - answering all of our questions, requests - because there was a lot of that! It will be a day that we will look back on for the rest of our lives with fondness and happiness.

What a setting for this Irish American wedding

A sunny outdoor Ceremony at the Rock of Cashel

Set in the heart of Tipperary, Cashel Palace feels like a place where modern Irish life quietly brushes up against centuries of history. At Love & Gatherings, we adore how the hotel carries the grandeur of its Georgian roots while still feeling like a warm, welcoming guesthouse — the kind of spot where a New Jersey‑born bride and a local Irish groom can weave two worlds together without either feeling like an afterthought. Annie and Michael’s wedding was exactly that: a joyful meeting of cultures, framed by the soft light of a late‑afternoon sun and the outline of the Rock of Cashel rising in the distance.

  • Their ceremony unfolded outdoors at the foot of the Rock, in a sun-drenched field (sheep poo pre-removed by our diligent team - a planner’s remit knows no bounds!), where every guest had a view of both the couple and the ancient stone monument behind them. Annie, with her easy laugh and East Coast warmth, walked toward Michael as if they were meeting halfway — between countries, between accents, between families. The service was personal, quietly emotional, and threaded through with humour that felt very them: a blend of Irish sincerity and American confidence, softening the formality into something that felt like a big family Sunday.

Afterwards, the energy flowed into the ballroom, which has been transformed by The Rosehip & Berry. Lush green foliage, trailing leaves, and soft candlelight gave the ballroom the feel of an indoor garden, but the rhythm of the reception was all theirs — Irish ceilí energy mingling with American first‑dances and heartfelt speeches that moved between the two. The decor leaned into abundance rather than perfection: greenery spilling from mantels, candles flickering across long tables, and a sense that the room was dressed for celebration.

As planners, what stayed with us was how natural it all felt — as if Annie and Michael had simply opened their lives to their guests, rather than “put on” a show. Their wedding at Cashel Palace wasn’t about recreating a fantasy; it was about bringing two families, two cultures, and one very sunny day into the same, beautifully green room.
