Sierra & Jesse
“We are often told by our guests that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to, and this is such a testament to the talent and the ability of Love and Gatherings.”
A wedding fit for faeries in an Irish church ruin
Sierra and Jesse’s wedding at Loughcrew Estate will always stay with me as one of those rare days where the setting, the design, and the emotion moved in complete harmony.
From the outset, Sierra was clear that she didn’t want to impose a heavy “wedding palette” onto Ireland, but rather to let the landscape lead. We treated the lush green countryside as our primary hue, then layered in gentle warmth—ivory, butter yellow and soft, timeworn neutrals that felt like Irish sunlight on stone. This approach carried through every detail, from Sierra’s insane Saint Bridal gown and ethereal veil to the heirloom jewellery and delicate accessories that echoed her love of fashion and family history.

Designing within the ancient stone church ruins was an honour. We allowed the architecture to act as a natural cathedral, keeping the styling restrained so moss, meadow grasses and Queen Anne’s Lace could frame the aisle in a way that felt almost self-sown. With just 40 guests, the ceremony held that beautiful micro-wedding quality I adore: quiet, spacious, and intensely personal.
Afterwards, we transitioned seamlessly into champagne among the ruins before guiding guests back through the field to traditional Irish musicians waiting in the courtyard. That decision—to prioritise live music and movement over formal structure—sparked the most joyful, spontaneous mini-ceilí, the kind of moment that simply doesn’t happen when a day is over-programmed.
Inside, we leaned into the warmth of Loughcrew’s yellow dining room with candlelit tables, opulent linens, antique-inspired paper pieces and brass accents that suggested an old-world melancholy, but in a way that was intentional, modern and quietly luxurious. With time built into the schedule, speeches unfolded slowly, courses were savoured, and Sierra and Jesse were truly present with the people who had travelled so far to be there.
Planning across 18 months, with two venue visits along the way, meant every element had a purpose—and on the day itself, they were free simply to soak it all in.

“If I were suddenly granted three wishes, one of my wishes would be to do our wedding weekend all over again, and I would have Kate at the helm once more. She made my wildest dreams come true and gave me the most beautifully haunting Brontë Sister-esque wedding.”
