A Sun-soaked Marquee Wedding at the Bride’s childhood home
From the very beginning, working with Ailbhe and Gary felt like stepping into something truly special. Their vision was clear: a large wedding at Ailbhe’s beloved childhood home that felt elegant yet relaxed, deeply personal, and full of warmth. The lovely Ailbhe had one big wish: that her parents (who, I would later learn, are just as considerate and gracious clients, as they are hosts) would be able to go on this journey, without the pressure one might expect from such a venture. Our role was to make that dream come true (and in the process, build a venue from scratch in a field)…

We designed a celebration that embodied Ailbhe and Gary’s clean, contemporary, modest style… an approach that allowed the beauty of this perfect property to do its thing. The traditional canvas marquee, with its open sides and natural plank floor, allowed us to create a reception space that felt so natural in its meadow home. Soft, romantic florals complemented the natural beauty of the venue, while carefully considered details—from the stationery to the tablescapes—created a cohesive and elevated atmosphere. Every element was chosen with intention, reflecting Ailbhe and Gary’s personalities and the story they share.
On the day itself, there was a calm energy from start to finish. Ailbhe was effortlessly radiant, and Gary’s excitement was unmistakable—it was one of those weddings where you could feel the emotion in every glance and every word. As guests arrived, the space came alive exactly as we had envisioned: welcoming, refined, and full of joy. A ceremony in garden Ailbhe had played in as a child, cocktails around the pool that is the social hub of this magical place, reception overlooking the house that means to much to so many of the guests.
Behind the scenes, our focus was on ensuring everything flowed perfectly, from coordinating suppliers to managing the timeline down to the smallest detail. Our supplier count was at an all time high - from the catering bar and front of house teams, to the staffed luxury loos, transport, security and cleaning crews, two marquees, three generators, soo much furniture and serveware, a lot of entertainers and a partridge in a pear tree. we moved in for a week and carefully curated each and every detail. This allowed Ailbhe and Gary, along with their families, to fully immerse themselves in the celebration without a single worry.
What stood out most was the atmosphere they created—genuine, joyful, and filled with generosity. It was a privilege to guide them through the process and to witness such a meaningful day come together so beautifully.
Ailbhe and Gary’s wedding was not only a reflection of their love, but a reminder of why I do what I do.
