Hilton Park

Hilton Park is, first and foremost, a family home, not a grand hotel, and that’s exactly what gives it its quiet magic. The estate has been in the same family for generations, and that sense of belonging runs through every corner of the house and grounds—there’s a warmth here that feels earned, not manufactured. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine generations of the family gathering in the same drawing room, around the same lake, for decades.

The grounds are one of the most authentic and generous I’ve worked with—wide, soft parkland rolling down to a large, tree‑ringed lake that becomes the heart of the day. The lake is perfect for photos, late‑afternoon drinks on the terrace, and even the odd boat ride, while the wider estate offers wooded walks, open lawns and those gentle, unstructured edges that make a wedding feel countryside‑romantic rather than overly staged. It’s the kind of landscape that suits both grand, sweeping moments and small, intimate ones.

Inside, there’s a beautifully homely vibe: rooms that feel lived‑in, furniture that invites you to sit rather than just look, and details that have clearly been chosen over time, not overnight. The family’s taste shows in the balance of tradition and comfort—nothing is too fussy or too polished, which makes Hilton Park incredibly easy to style for a wedding. Whether it’s a relaxed, family‑centred celebration or a more refined affair, the house and the lake wrap it all in an atmosphere that feels generous, grounded and genuinely Irish.

What do we love most about gatherings at Hilton Park?

  1. The family who live in and adore the estate are excellent hosts; warm, collaborative and appreciative of great food and hospitality

  2. The converted barn structure (they call it the Collanade), which is the reception space is beautifully airy & comes complete with an adjoining sheebeen

  3. Their recommended caterers are excellent, but they’re open to anything.

  4. The lake (with its jetty and sauna) as close to heaven as I can imagine.

  5. The house feels genuinely historical - a valuable glimpse into an important part of ireland’s cultural past.
